FAQS

What’s included in the BettaPet First Aid Kit?

The BettaPet Pet First Aid Kit contains 52 practical first aid items designed to help pet owners manage common injuries and emergencies while arranging appropriate veterinary care. It includes wound care supplies, bandaging materials, sterile saline, syringes for flushing, a tick remover, gloves, emergency items and more.

Is the BettaPet First Aid Kit suitable for dogs and cats?

Yes. The kit has been designed with dog and cat owners in mind and contains versatile first-aid supplies that can be useful in a range of common emergency situations. The kit can also be useful for horses and small farm animals, depending on the situation.

Does a pet first aid kit replace veterinary care?

No. First aid is designed to support your pet until appropriate veterinary care is available. It does not replace veterinary assessment, diagnosis or treatment. If your pet is unwell, injured or you’re unsure what to do, contact a veterinarian.

What is the QR Emergency Guide?

Your BettaPet kit includes access to a Quick Emergency Guide via QR code, giving you easy access to practical emergency information when you need it.

Do I need pet first aid training to use the kit?

No formal training is required to own or use the kit. The supplies are there to help you be better prepared for an emergency, and the accompanying information provides general guidance. However, first aid should always be used within your ability and should not delay veterinary treatment.

How often should I check my first-aid kit?

It’s a good idea to check your kit regularly. Replace anything that has been used, damaged or expired, and make sure the kit remains somewhere easy to access.

It’s a free quick reference pack designed to help pet owners prepare before an emergency happens. It includes an emergency contacts sheet, pet details page, emergency quick-action guide, normal vital-sign reference, first-aid kit checklist and emergency observation sheet

How do I get the free printable pack?

Enter your name and email through the Free Pet Emergency Printable Pack signup page and the pack will be sent to your inbox.

Is the free printable a replacement for veterinary advice?

No. The printable is provided for general educational and emergency preparedness purposes only. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Can BettaPet diagnose my animal or tell me whether I need a vet?

No. BettaPet provides general first aid and preparedness information and cannot diagnose individual animals. If you’re concerned about your pet or unsure how urgent something is, contact your veterinarian.

Built by a Rural Pet Owner

Living on a rural property means our animals are part of everyday life. From horses and dogs to birds and farm animals, I've experienced firsthand how quickly emergencies can happen—and how important it is to be prepared.

That's why I created Bettapet. Combining my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with real-world experience, I wanted to create a first aid kit that I'd trust for my own animals and be proud to recommend to others.
